Years ago, through a prophetic dream, I received a message regarding The Path of Remembrance. I was taken through a ceremonial process of being re-membered (or restored to perfect order). The experience was so meaningful that the presence of what I encountered was with me when I woke up and I wrote down my best understanding of what I had seen and felt. It would be two years before the details and context would reveal themselves. Many conversations and experiences would build the Path of Remembrance so that in April of 2024, I was able to send the following information to a small group of people, as an invitation to their own re-member-ing:
Identity is the crux of human existence. It begins with the family we are born to and is further developed both consciously and unconsciously as every experience and interaction that litters our life’s path. We are first identified by our family, then by our gender, our race, our ethnicity, and then by our level of intelligence, our skills and abilities, our communication, and our experiences. All this crystallizes into what we call our personality, which becomes our personal reality. And through this lens of identity, we determine who we are and what our relationship is to the world around us.
Little do we know, the world around us is just a projection through the personality kaleidoscope of “me”. As we become more personality aware (mistaking this for Self awareness), we begin to name and label the experiences of our past, determining their meaning based on the limited idea of who we think we are. We seek deeper understanding of our ills, dysfunction, and lack of mental, physical, and emotional wholeness in an attempt to be good students of the personality.
This, however, is only the beginning. The more adept we become at naming our dispositions, admiring our quirks, defending our past hurts, talking about our pain, or perfectly identifying our so-called hidden beliefs, the heavier and more dense the weight of our bondage. Our newfound awareness and broad vocabulary haven’t liberated us at all. We are further from the Truth of ourselves with every new layer of so-called awareness developed by the limited personality of our human condition.
Somewhere, beyond it all, our Soul, the direct expression of Infinite Intelligence, awaits recognition.
The Path of Remembrance is the road traveled by those who’ve come to the end of their own clever, hard won success, goals, and approval seeking. This Path welcomes the one who has become weary with self preservation and constantly working to do more healing, more development, and gain more information on how life can be better. Laying down all methods for improving the small self and its array of personality traits, leaves us open to receiving the Light and Intelligence of our Soul-the infinite knower and wisdom keeper. Learning to live from our Soul's great wisdom leads us into Right Relationships, True Place Success, Abundant Health, and Prosperous All Sufficiency. In short, you will walk a path straight to the heart of total fulfillment.
