The Obstacles of Ease (Identify and Dissolve them)
Staples branded themselves with the marketing of an “easy” button. If you’ve seen any of their ads, then you may be calling it to mind right now. A big, red, easy button. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve joked about needing one!
Many times in the last year, while Beau has been in his start up phase of his business, he’s been faced with challenges. He’s had to have challenging conversations, he’s had to solve problems in challenging circumstances, and he’s even had to examine himself with honesty, facing his internal challenges. He would tell me in a variety of situations that his strategy to doing challenging things is “I pretend that it’s easy.” And perhaps that works when you’re gulping down fear, though, psyching yourself up in the face of “hard things” repeatedly will take its toll on your mind and body.
There’s an easier way. 😉
The fact is, we are meant to live in ease. I know the “hustle and grind” type don’t like the idea and will turn their nose at such an idea, but the one who is living beyond survival (or hustling and grinding) knows that ease, is God’s way.
Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy….”
Yoke means bond. We are called to be bonded to ease and rest. But our conditioning has us living in conflict.
So here are the most common obstacles of ease and the method for dissolving them:
