If You Want Financial Overflow, Stop Working So Hard (and start doing things in a certain way).
*spoiler alert: doing things in a certain way means doing things according to universal law. This has nothing to do with the law of the land, the rules of money according to any number of financial gurus, penny pinching, or saving/investing, etc.
If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a million times…
“Hard work pays off”
Honestly, if hard work equaled riches then the hardest working people would be the wealthiest, and that simply isn’t true.
Some people love to be busy because they do not feel worthy of receiving without lots of effort. They spin their wheels doing what they are good at but ignore their genius. Their proficiency makes a return but it’s a pittance, compared to the overflow they are designed to express.
And of course, many people have “proven” that all of their efforts have created some sort of financial pay off, but usually at the expense of personal health or relationships or happiness or freedom, etc. and also because they are using the Law in some way though they are ignorant of it.
In my own personal experience, I’ve generated the most financial gain when I’ve lived in ease rather than effort. Believe me when I say, I’ve had years of experience and experimenting.
In 2013 I found myself homeless, sleeping on an air mattress in my sister’s living room. There were many things that led to this particular circumstance, but those details will have to be for another time.
At first I was filled with woe, dread, and completely depressed. I could not believe where I was in my life. I didn’t stay down in the dumps for long. The discomfort pushed me to find a solution. Of course, my thoughts went immediately to how I could get money. Money would solve all of these problems…right? Well, on a level, yes. Money would provide the means to get me off the air mattress and into my own place. But, I wasn’t short on skill or lacking awareness as to how to get money. Money is EASY to get. I was selling rocks on the side of the road near where my dad worked when I was 5 years old. Yes. I effectively sold rocks, well, one for sure, for 25 cents a rock. A woman was out for a walk with her toddler and stopped by my “rock stand” to ask what I was doing. I explained I was selling rocks, she asked how much, I told her and she gave me a quarter. I was so excited I abandoned my post to run to my parents and tell them I had made my first sale. From that point on, I was hooked!
I’ve always been entrepreneurial, I got my first job at 15 and I have worked in several corporate, non profit, sales, and entrepreneurial capacities. I have a lot of experience making money. So, getting money wasn’t my problem, even though I seemed to have none at the time, and my focus wanted to go directly to the thing I knew I could create.
My problem was, I didn’t know how to get money without selling my soul, working a job I didn’t like, or working tirelessly to make ends meet. I was emotionally and mentally exhausted.
The truth about emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion when it comes to work or money is simply that we are not honoring ourselves and we end up doing things we think will make money rather than doing things in a certain way. When we lose sight of the fact that we are not here to survive, we find ourselves in patterns of crunching numbers, adding up our bills, doing the math in our head before the paycheck ever hits, manipulating our finances to get what we want and struggling to find any joy or peace in the process. Scarcity becomes our dictator and our motivator. If you want to experience even just a taste of financial well-being or wealth, you cannot make money out of fear. It will never work.
If you are currently doing ANYTHING because of the money you will make, you will find yourself trapped and unable to break with the vicious cycle of living to work. It will suck you in deeper and deeper. If there is no joy in what you do, no mental or emotional benefit outside of the high you get when money hits your bank account, it will run its course, it will fade, and so will all of your false feelings of safety. If you keep thinking that a certain amount of money will finally bring you freedom, you are blind to the prison you are living in already. More money is not the key that opens the doors of your prison. You will always be a slave to money if you think so.
If you really want to be free, like actually free which means you not only have plenty of money to do what you want and live how you want, you also feel happy, fulfilled, active in ways that support your Soul, and accomplished with a legacy you feel is worthy of who you are, then these next steps (the exact steps I used to get out of my own enslavement) will work if you use them.
You do not need to work harder or stay at a soul sucking job in order to pay your bills, put food on the table, or get by. You will have to work, you cannot escape it, but if you do the right kind of work-this has nothing to do with vocation, it will catapult you into a new dimension of Life on every level. Every private client I’ve worked with has used these steps-with much intentional practice-and have changed their lives dramatically.
If you attempt to do something you perceive as beneficial but your underlying intention is to make money, you will struggle. Not because you aren’t supposed to intend to have money but because you are not aligned in what you are doing. You are not promoting your work to make money, you are trying to seem a bit more noble by offering help of some sort so you can get money. Getting money is not what this is about. You can get money if you want or you can let money be birthed from your very being. Getting and letting come with two different intentions and the methods are not the same. If your intention is money, then be upfront in the way you speak and share with others. This is much more aligned and in integrity, but more on that later.
Below I’m going to explain the steps and why it may take some time before you see all of the results you desire. I am also going to explain how to shorten the time between where you are and where you want to be. None of these steps will include longer hours at your job, your side hustle or your online business. These are the steps of real abundance. And REAL abundance grows, expands, and gets bigger the easier and less restricted you become. Real abundance is God and cannot be separate from it. Period.
The following is the exact work I did to pull me out of financial failure and into a 6000% increase within a year:
